Who is it for
This is an ideal starting point if your ideal job is working in the hairdressing industry.
This programme will provide you with a clear understanding of hairdressing and the
industry as a whole and you will develop the skills required to assist in a hairdressing salon supporting the stylist.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.

No formal qualifications needed.
What is covered
Our excellent facilities and industry salons are the perfect place to begin your career
training. Throughout this course you will study a range of subjects including
salon reception duties, shampooing and conditioning hair, basic skincare and nail
care, preparation and maintenance for work areas and blow drying and colouring skills.
How is the course assessed
You will be assessed through practical observation, oral questioning, assignments, written tests and portfolio work.
What can this course lead to
On successful completion of this course you can progress on to Level 2 VRQ Hairdressing, a level 2 beauty course or an apprenticeship.
Are there any additional costs
You will need to purchase a kit and uniform (approx £240) – details of these will be given at your interview.
