Who is it for
Our A/S and A level provision is aimed at 19+ learners who are looking to further their knowledge and understanding of Mathematics and are potentially looking at progressing into Higher education or a career change.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be invited into college for a screening assessment in late August 2021 alongside a short interview outlining your goals and commitments to studying the programme.
What will I need
Our entry Requirements are a Grade 6/B at GCSE. Or an equivalent level from another country confirmed by UK Naric
If you do not meet this we will welcome you into the college to complete a screening assessment and if you are working at a sufficient level we are happy to offer you a place on the course.
You will need basic academic equipment such as notebooks, stationary, calculator as well as a revision guide and textbook.
What is covered
We will be covering three main modules
– Pure maths
This will include topics such as:
– Differentiation and Integration
– Circle Theorem
– Geometric series
– Trigonometric Identities
– Numerical methods
– 3D Vectors
How is the course assessed
The course is the ’Non–linear' A/S and A–Level programme. This means you will sit an exam at the end of year 1 (AQA 7356) in June 2022 and have the option to step off at this point and gain an A/S level. This can be equivalent to up to 20 UCAS points.
You then have the option to progress onto A2, the second year of the programme. This will also end with an exam in June 2023 and can be equivalent to up to 56 UCAS points.
