Who is it for
Studying a travel and tourism course is a brilliant way to introduce you to one of the
largest industries in the world. This Level 1 course will give you an understanding of the travel and tourism business and the types of companies within it.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
A minimum of Entry Level 3 in English equivalent and the ability to demonstrate
an interest in the subject.
What is covered
You'll study a range of topics including: the UK leisure and business travel industry, travel geography, customer service, trip planning, preparing for a career in travel and tourism, and resort representatives. You will also prepare for employment through a short period of work experience/placement.
How is the course assessed
Continuous assessment through a range of coursework, portfolios of evidence and short on–line tests.
What can this course be combined with
Functional Skills and additional short, specialised qualifications in travel and tourism.
What can this course lead to
The aim of the course is to help you gain improved skills and increased chances of
employment. You can progress onto Level 2 Travel and Tourism if you achieve Merits and Distinctions in your coursework units and achieve all components of your study programme as well as English and maths functional skills.
Are there any additional costs
The course also includes various trips around the local area and further afield, you will also be required to wear a travel and tourism uniform. Costs will be advised to you at the interview stage, for payment during the enrolment process.
