Who is it for
Do you feel you have always had an interest in caring for people, or want a career where you can make a difference? Then why not consider a career in care. This course will provide you with a basic understanding of both the health and social care and childcare industry, as well as providing you with the right skills for employment.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
You will need an interest in health and social care, a willingness to work hard and a
minimum of Entry 2 English and maths.
What is covered
This course will provide you with a great introduction to the industry and covers a
number of areas which will provide you with a good foundation of knowledge to
progress further. You will learn about healthy eating, communication skills, online learning, equality and job roles within the industry and the principles and values of health and social care.
You will also be required to carry out mandatory work placements and be
required to complete English and maths within the study programme.
How is the course assessed
There will be a range of assignments allocated to each unit of study, all assignments for each unit must be completed in order to gain your qualification. You will complete a range of assessment methods and can only be graded either a pass or a fail.
What can this course lead to
You may be able to progress onto Level 1 Health and Social Care if you achieve the
Entry Level 3 Functional Skills in English alongside the course.

As part of the course you will gain employability skills through work experience.
