Who is it for
If you would like a career in the beauty therapy industry, working in such areas as
facial treatments, manicures, pedicures and waxing, then this course is ideal for
you. This course is also great if you enjoy working with people and have good
communication skills.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event, details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
4 GCSEs at grades 3/D or above, including English, maths and science, or a relevant Level 1 qualification.
What is covered
Topics studied at this level include facial work/skincare, make–up/camouflage
make–up, lash and brow treatments, waxing, manicure and pedicure and client
care/communication.
How is the course assessed
Practical assessments take place on fee paying clients in Revive salons where you will have the opportunity to use an extensive range products. Work experience will be included in the programme and you will also be required to compete in the college competition. You will be expected to demonstrate your competence in all units to the standards required in Industry Assessments methods:
• Practical assessment
• Completion of portfolio
• Observation
What can this course lead to
The course naturally qualifies you for employment in the beauty therapy
industries. Alternatively, you may choose to study for further qualifications in
advanced therapy areas such as Level 3 Beauty Therapy Techniques, Level 3
Diploma in Theatrical Special Effects Hair and Media Make–up or move on to a
specialised holistic course.
Are there any additional costs
You will need to purchase a beauty kit and uniform – details of these will be given at
your interview.
