Who is it for
The computer games industry has become one of the fastest developing disciplines across the globe. Learning how to design games covers a wide range of skills, and you will be exploring and developing the fundamental tools required for game design, including 3D modelling, Sound design, level design, texturing and designing a game using Unreal Engine.
Grow as the industry grows and research gaming for developing technologies like AR and VR.
Craft stories and narratives to take the player into the world you have created and design the sounds needed to bring that world to life.
What will I need
Four GCSE at grade 4 or above –
Mandatory: English and Maths
Preferred: Art, Graphics, Computer studies/IT, Media studies.

Year 1: A1 and A2
Year 2: B1 and B2
How is the course assessed
All units are assessed via coursework, over a 2 year program of study. There are 2 units to complete per year, with the first unit being delivered across three smaller projects (see below)
A1 Skills Development: 3 x assignments
A2 Creative Project: 1 x assignment
B1 Personal Progression: 1 x assignment
B2 Creative Industry Response: 1 x assignment
Work is assessed at Pass, Merit, and Distinction level. The qualification carries UCAS tariff points allowing learners to move on to Higher Education (University degree programs).
