Who is it for
Official data showed that over 7,500 people were referred to the Prevent programme in 2015/16. The purpose of this qualification is to support anyone who is responsible for the safeguarding of people and for helping prevent radicalisation. It gives learners an understanding of recognising the signs of abuse, how to reduce the risk of radicalisation and the potential consequences of illegal online activity
This qualification is suitable for those responsible for safeguarding others.
The purpose of this qualification is to increase the learner's knowledge and awareness of the Prevent Duty and safeguarding, including online safety.
By completing the qualification, learners will develop knowledge of safeguarding in an environment where they have a duty of care.
What will I need
Learners should be at least 19 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but Centres may have their own guidelines.
What is covered
This qualification contains 3 mandatory units:
• Unit 01 Understanding the Prevent Duty
• Unit 02 Understanding Safeguarding
• Unit 03 Understanding Online Safety.
How is the course assessed
All units are internally assessed using a portfolio of evidence.
