Peterborough Regional College (PRC) delivers a range of Higher Education courses in Engineering and Construction which are accredited by Pearson EdExcel. In addition to this PRC also provide a range of Level 4 qualifications in professional and teaching related subjects. The Peterborough Regional College Higher Education provision complies with the regulatory expectations of OfS, QAA and satisfies the relevant student protection measures. - Academic Support which includes Study Excellence sessions, employability events and extra-curricular activities.

Understanding the relationship between University Centre Peterborough and Peterborough Regional College
University Centre Peterborough is located on Peterborough Regional College’s campus on Park Crescent and offers degree courses in a range of subjects; some of which enable you to progress from your Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma. As a Peterborough Regional College HE student you are able to access the facilities in UCP as highlighted above.
University Centre Peterborough (UCP) was formed in 2007 and is a joint venture between Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) and Peterborough Regional College (PRC). University Centre Peterborough opened its purpose built £9 million facility in November 2009 on the campus of PRC. The joint venture agreement outlines the responsibilities of both parties for managing academic standards.
Anglia Ruskin University is the lead provider for degrees and post –graduate provision at University Centre Peterborough.
HNC & HND Awards: Summer 2020 Update due to Covid-19
Due to the significant vocational nature of some Units and their assessment, Pearson, the awarding body of Higher National qualification have announced guidelines to the award process in Summer 2020. This will only affect a very small number of HN students completing this academic year (2019-20). The students affected have all been informed and the College we will continue to support them.
FT and PT students scheduled to complete in 2020
For a HN semester 2 unit where assessment criterion is of a practical nature, e.g. laboratory experiment, field work, using machinery and specialist software and cannot be substituted by and alternative assessment (based on Pearson guidelines), a calculated result approach will be taken. This will be in accordance with Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) rules and regulations. Communication has been made with students in this situation. Calculated Unit results and normal assessment results will be confirmed following the Awards Board process.
FT and PT students scheduled to complete in 2021
For one HN unit where assessment criterion is of a practical nature, e.g. laboratory experiment, field work, using machinery and specialist software and cannot be substituted by and alternative assessment (based on Pearson guidelines), the assessment (and necessary pre-assessment training / delivery) will be delayed until next year when UCP/PRC resume safe face to face operation. . Communication has been made with students in this situation. Results from all other Units will be confirmed following the Awards Board process.

The Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA) handles complaints against higher education institutions once students have exhausted the institution’s internal complaints procedures. The OIA Annual Statement provides contextual information for the handling of any complaints made about the Peterborough Regional College to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA), and their outcomes following OIA investigations. - The number of applications for admission on to recognised, undergraduate higher education courses that we have received from UK domiciled applicants.
- The number of offers we have made in relation to those applications.
- The number of those offers accepted and the number of those who have registered with us.
- The number of students who attained a particular degree or other academic award, or a particular level of such an award, on completion of their course with us.
It also shows these numbers by reference to:
- The gender of the individuals to which they relate
- Their ethnicity
- Their socio-economic background.
It is important to note that the data presented has not been contextualised. This means, for example, that you will not be able to see from this data how many of those applying to courses met the entry criteria. It is also the case that universities and colleges will often receive many more applications than they have spaces on courses and so offer rates will necessarily be lower than application rates in those circumstances.
