Former Jobsmart Trainee to Study Musical Theatre and Professional Dance Degree at Urdang University of London

Claudio Keita, who is currently studying Level 3 BTEC Dance course at Peterborough College, auditioned for, and has been accepted at Urdang University of London for a Musical Theatre and Professional Dance degree beginning in September 2023.

Having moved from Portugal to the UK, Claudio enrolled on the Traineeship Programme with Jobsmart at Peterborough College, part of Inspire Education Group. He then embarked on a work placement with Vivacity – where he did so well that the company offered him a paid job. Anjy Hall, Claudio’s lecturer, was full of praise for the student, saying “we were exceptionally impressed by his kindness, maturity, work ethic, desire to learn new skills, as well as his drive and ambition to achieve his career aspirations”.

Claudio, who already has an impressive portfolio and successful career in modelling, commented “I enrolled for the course to fill in the time until I was able to join the main college, but it turned out to be way better than just filling time. I was able to achieve my English and Maths qualifications, whilst also achieving my employability qualification. During my employability lessons I learned key points to be successful in getting jobs and having a successful career. I learned how to build a CV, professional etiquette, how to succeed in an interview and much more.”

Claudio was very satisfied with his experience at Peterborough College, adding that “after I finished the course the staff were still very caring, and they would check on me to see my progress of getting into college. I have to say that this course was incredible, and I recommend it to anyone who needs some help figuring out their future!”
