Former Peterborough College Student’s Exhibition Being Held at UCL Urban Room in East London’s Olympic Park

Caitlin Vinicombe, who studied Photography at Peterborough College, is having her work exhibited at UCL East until the 29th of April 2023.
Caitlin’s work, ‘Navigating the System’ is a University College London (UCL) curated research project by Joseph Cook and Nura Ali, discussing how boaters in London access healthcare and the challenges they face due to a lack of address. The commission documents this research with anonymous imagery and is on display as part of a joint exhibition at UCL.

After studying at Peterborough College, part of Inspire Education Group, Caitlin recently graduated with a First in Documentary and Photojournalism at University of the Arts London (UAL). The themes of her work primarily focus on trauma and developing a collaborative process to tell people’s stories. Caitlin works with a mixture of digital and film, with her most recent project being an exploration into alternative processes and collecting found material. Caitlin has provided commissioned photography for various pieces of work, including ‘If A Tree Falls In The Forest’, ‘Two Shorten The Road’ and ‘Aotearoa’.
Caitlin also visited Peterborough College to talk to our current students about her first exhibition as a freelancer, her experiences at UAL and how this has helped her embark on her journey to becoming a full time photojournalist. She also gave tips on networking, making contacts and taking the initiative.
