GCSE Students Celebrate Fantastic Grades At Peterborough College

GCSE students at Peterborough College, part of Inspire Education Group, are celebrating a superb group pass rate of 90.8% today, higher than the 73% national average.
Staff are immensely proud of the perseverance and efforts made by their students who have gained GCSE qualifications with us, a qualification which can open up career opportunities and additional learning options.
Mature student, Fern Ward, exceeded her own expectations by achieving a grade 6 in GCSE English, after having a difficult time at school and suffering from dyslexia and ADHD Fern was determined to go back to college and gain these essential qualifications that she needs to be able to get onto an Access course leading to University and a career in Social Services.
“I finally believed that I could do it, and I smashed it! I can’t believe I passed and got a 6 (a higher grade than expected). The only way I got through this course was because of Emily (her tutor). Her sheer determination to help me, telling me I could do it, helping me through my troubles, and now I’ve gone and done it! I couldn’t have done it without you!”
Mohammad Ali achieved a grade 8 in GCSE Science, 7 in Maths and 6 in English, in addition to D* D* in Level 2 Applied Science, and is now going to study A-levels at our sister campus, Stamford College, on his journey into a career in Medicine.
“My tutors helped me every single day. Their support was perfect and exactly what I needed. I couldn’t have done it without them. Those everyday interventions really paid off!”
Mature student, Liz Brown, achieved an amazing grade 8 in English, after not getting her GCSEs at school. She had always wanted to give it another go at some point, and a recent cancer diagnosis pushed her to enrol at Peterborough College earlier this year.
“I was so well prepared by the time I sat down to do the exam. Everyone has been great from day one, you’ve all been so amazing! Thank you for everything!”
Well done to all our GCSE students, and the best of luck in your next steps.
