PARCA Host International Women’s Day Celebration at Peterborough College

On Friday evening, the Peterborough Asylum and Refugee Community Association (PARCA) hosted an International Women’s Day celebration at Peterborough College. ITV News covered the event which celebrated the success and empowerment of women in the local community, across the region and nationally.
Peterborough College, part of Inspire Education Group (IEG), welcomed guests from across the community to enjoy an evening with speeches, performances and an art exhibition – featuring artwork from both our students and PARCA partners.
PARCA’s vision is to provide refugees, asylum seekers and migrant communities with the skills and confidence they need to realise their potential and assist their integration into Peterborough.
Marija Lysak, Outreach Manager at PARCA and one of the organisers of the event said “I am delighted that the International Women’s Day event demonstrated our working in partnership with Peterborough College and Inspire Education group. The College provided the ideal venue and backdrop for the event with easy access for over 200 guests – including dignitaries and service users who attended. It was good to see a diversity of nationalities and age groups celebrating this important occasion together, with representatives from both organisations taking part. We look forward to strengthening our partnership over the coming weeks and beyond.”
