Peterborough College Students Celebrate Their Teachers For International Women’s Day.

Peterborough College students celebrated International Women’s Day this year by nominating their favourite teachers for an IWD Award.

The college’s Student Engagement team organised the awards and received an overwhelming number of nominations from students. This initiative created a powerful platform for acknowledging the invaluable contributions of women within the institution, whether through their dedication to teaching, supportive mentorship or exemplary leadership.

One student mentor, Victoria Harrison, received 15 nominations, with one student expressing their deep appreciation for Victoria, who had significantly influenced their experience at the college: “This member of staff has been an absolute inspiration, helping me find my feet at the college during these first few months. Coming from another country, brand new to the UK, this whole experience has been a whirlwind. But the support I’ve received has lit a spark in me that I hope to pass on to countless others”

The celebration highlighted the positive impact of inspirational women on students’ personal and academic journeys. It reinforced the college’s commitment to recognising and empowering women across all areas of education and leadership.
