Peterborough College Students Commissioned To Design Charity Christmas Cards For ‘Don’t Lose Hope’

Visual Arts students of Peterborough College followed a professional work experience brief to create Christmas card designs for the mental health charity, ‘Don’t Lose Hope’. Winning entries were printed at no charge by locally-based Warners Midlands, ready to be sold in Don’t Lose Hope’s Gift Shop and Café. Proceeds will help fund the charity’s professional counselling service, available to members of the community aged four and upwards.

The counselling service is delivered by a team of qualified and experienced counsellors, in private, fully-equipped counselling rooms. Don’t Lose Hope relies upon fundraising activity, like this Christmas card appeal, to maintain the service. David Smith, Curriculum Leader for Visual Arts at Peterborough College, commented on the generous efforts of the students; “They thoroughly enjoyed the project and we are immensely proud of them for creating such wonderful pieces for such a good cause.”

Over 60 entries were submitted, and from those, four designs were chosen to be printed. Level 3 students, Emma Short, Renate Lase, Mackenzie Little and Natasha Richardson were the winning entrants, depicting a scenic snowscape, two adorable robins, a delicious-looking Christmas pudding, and even a festive gonk!
