Peterborough College Supported By European Market Leader in Home Life Safety, Aico, for Provision of FIA CPD Accredited Expert Installer Training

Peterborough College, part of Inspire Education Group, will be supported by Aico to provide FIA CPD accredited Expert Installer training for electrical, construction and plumbing students. Over the next year, over 300 students will have the correct skills and extensive training to support their careers.
Aico, who are the “European leader in home life safety”, have donated smoke alarms to the college and have given students access to a state-of-the-art mobile training unit. The Expert Installer training scheme is designed to improve our apprentices’ knowledge and understanding of Legislation, Regulations and British standards. The scheme will also provide the information they need on how to install the correct detection in the correct location. This will support students in gaining FIA CPD accreditation and will be the first step in them gaining the Aico City and Guilds Assured Training.
Last week, Robert Avery, Aico`s Regional Specification Manager, was invited to visit Peterborough College to see the smoke alarms that Aico had donated. Robert was optimistic about the future of the college students, saying “we have agreed to support the construction, plumbing, engineering and electrical teams to provide our FIA Expert Installer training – over the next year 300+ students will have the training and support in their careers”.
