T Levels – Starting September 2023

T Levels are careers-focused , technical alternative to A Levels, designed with employers and businesses, with the inclusion of English, maths and digital skills.

Studying a T-Level will give you the professional and technical skills for an exciting career and successful future – you will gain the knowledge, experience and business links to open the door into skilled employment, Degree education and Higher Level Apprenticeships!

T-Levels are:

  • Equivalent to THREE A Levels
  • Two-year courses
  • Developed in collaboration with employers and business
  • 20% on-the-job training, 80% in the classroom / workshop studying
  • An alternative to A Levels or Apprenticeships after studying GCSEs

Construction Occupational Specialisms

  • Sur­vey­ing and Design for Con­struc­tion and the Built Environment
    An oppor­tu­ni­ty to acquire skills in build­ing ser­vices design; civ­il engi­neer­ing; sur­vey­ing and design for con­struc­tion; and the built envi­ron­ment. This T Lev­el can be a route to a career work­ing as a Build­ing Sur­vey­or, Build­ing Ser­vices Engi­neer, Archi­tect, Civ­il or Struc­tur­al Engi­neer, Quan­ti­ty Sur­vey­or or Site Manager.

Digital

  • Digital Production Design and Development
    Learn all about the busi­ness and dig­i­tal envi­ron­ment, plan­ning and test­ing, secu­ri­ty, with oppor­tu­ni­ties to spe­cialise in spe­cif­ic areas of design­ing, imple­ment­ing and test­ing soft­ware to cre­ate dig­i­tal solu­tions. This T Lev­el can be a route to a career work­ing as a Soft­ware, Games, Appli­ca­tion or Web Devel­op­er, or Soft­ware Tester.

Education and Childcare

  • Ear­ly Years Educator
    Cov­er­ing core ele­ments such as child devel­op­ment; how edu­ca­tion works; safe­guard­ing; and, spe­cial edu­ca­tion­al needs, and by learn­ing hands-on and in the class­room, in just two years you could be ready to work in a career as a Nurs­ery Man­ag­er, Child and Ear­ly Years Offi­cer or Pri­ma­ry School Teacher.

Health and Science

  • Sup­port­ing Health Care – Care Chil­dren and Young People
    Gain essen­tial knowl­edge and skills about work­ing in health­care and under­stand­ing how the indus­try works through cov­er­ing core sci­en­tif­ic con­cepts, man­ag­ing infor­ma­tion and good clin­i­cal prac­tice, with oppor­tu­ni­ties to spe­cialise in adult nurs­ing care, care of chil­dren and young peo­ple, men­tal health, mid­wifery, the­atre or therapy.

Industry Placements

Indus­try Place­ments are at the heart of the T‑Level course, so you will need a real com­mit­ment to suc­ceed in the work­place if you choose this type of study.

You will be sup­port­ed to find and secure your indus­try place­ment by our on-site Indus­try Place­ment team. You will also have full sup­port through­out your place­ment to ensure you are con­fi­dent and com­fort­able with your employ­er and role.
